WHAT IS DOVA?

DOVA is an online audit designed to show gaps between the desired Ethical Values in a firm (stated values) and the actual ethical conduct (practiced in day to day activities) in a firm. It is based on years of research, and shows that value incongruence can lead to:

  • Low productivity
  • Low morale
  • Turnover of talented employees
  • Other negative personal and organizational consequences

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Each member of the firm follows a step by step instructions and completes the specially designed and scientifically validated survey.

The survey is confidential, and thus by being transparent and honest, you help yourself and your company to get a realistic picture (Audit) of the various ethical conducts on a day to day basis. This can later lead to a remedial plan to transform the firm to become a more ethical organization and a better place to work.

Before initiating the process and generating the reports, you need to select the language for which the survey and the reports will be produced.

The tool was designed to maintain confidentiality, and the firm will only obtain aggregate reports (i.e. no individual can be identified). Data are contrasted by some ad hoc algorithms that allow each firm to obtain the profile of its dominating ethical conduct and values in action.

Members of the firm with “Change Master” access to the application, will be able to generate aggregate reports related to the criteria/segments that were pre-selected. In selecting the relevant segments, the Change Master(s) sign a letter of consent where he/she accept to respect confidentiality, and confirm that the criterion selected for information and/or generate reports meets all legal and ethical obligations.

The report, shows problematic areas, or segments that are problematic, and can lead to initiating programs that will remedy the situation. All in all, the aim is to develop a coherent ethical conduct that will sustain individual and organizational well-being. This can become a real win-win situation for both individual members of the organization and the firm itself.

INTERPRETING THE RESULTS

The red portion of the gauge dial, indicate that your assessment is very low. It means that a big gap exist between the ethical values preached (on the wall), and the ethical values practiced (values in action).

The orange portion of the gauge dial, indicate that your assessment is average. It means that there is some gap between the level of ethical values preached (on the wall), and those that are actually being practiced (ethical values in action). All in all, this is a normal situation found in many firms.

The green portion of the gauge dial, indicate that your assessment is very high. It means that there is no or very small gap between the level of ethical values preached (on the wall), and those which are being practiced (values in action). This is usually a sign of a healthy, high performance and positive organizational culture, where peoples adhere to high standards of ethics.

Relevant information:

* The License contract means a license for the Change Master to select the people in the organization that will participate in the program. We recommend a minimum of 66% of all members of the organization.

** The final cost of DOVA will be fixed as a function of the number of users. We have developed a very competitive cost offer for which, by and large, there is a significant cost reduction for having more users participate in the program.

DOVA was created by Prof. Simon L. Dolan. It was inspired by two articles he and his colleague Mr. Avi Liran published in The European Business Review (2016, 2017). The concept has evolved from the principles described in Prof. Dolan books such as: 'Managing by Values' (Dolan et al, 2006), 'Coaching by Values' (Dolan, 2011), and 'Coaching and Leading by Values 2020).
